He is right that the main point of putting in the main power fuse is so that if there is a short the wire will not catch on fire due to excessive current. Adding a ground rod would help. Also don’t run any high end appliances while on generator unless you keep a close eye on the fuel level. When the generator runs out of fuel, it dosen’t just stop, it runs down.
